A farmer is trying to cross the river with some of his livestock and a couple vegetables. He has two wolves, a sheep, and a bunch of cabbages. He is crossing in his boat, and only has space for one thing. If he leaves the cabbage with the sheep, it will eat it. If he leaves the sheep and a wolf, it will eat the sheep. How can he get all of the livestock safely over the river?

NEW GAME!
Oh, the joys of video gaming. I promised myself I wouldn't blog about video games twice in a row, but you know. It's so convenient. This New Remade video game takes place in the same place which Pokemon Gold did. (You see a resemblance in the title) In case you don't know, the symbol for this game is this...well I'm not going to say it because it'll make me sound like a nerd. Anyhow, this game is a remake of a previous game, and so has a lot of things that are the same. However, they've added a bunch of new features to this game for a new experience. So you start as this boy/girl who is helping a professor with his research on pokemon. Then someone breaks in and steals a pokemon. He becomes your rival. Fairly similar to a lot of pokemon games. Except in this remade version, they changed it so that your backpack and battle system is different. If you have this game, it's worth looking at, and playing through if you liked this series. I haven't finished it, but pokemon games can take upwards of 100 hours, if you go through all the side quests and training and things like that. (which I happen to like doing) It's a great game, like all the one's in the series, but maybe more advanced than it's predecessors, Pokemon Gold and Silver. A nice game, worth spending time, a lot like the other pokemon games. I like it, but I've only played a couple hours on it, so...well I like it so far. Let's see if that continues. I always liked this series. It's a good long game, like many of the other pokemon games. Hopefully it will be even better than the ones before it.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Yet another turn based game. An old one, which I've recently come back too. A short game by RPG standards, it is only about 20 hours long...if you only finish the main game. Fortunately, you have the opportunity to continue it after you finish. You wake up one morning after having a really, really weird dream. Then you find out you're a pokemon. (big surprise) Anyway, you see another pokemon and he/she decide to form a rescue team. (thus the name) The pokemon you become depends on your personality, how you answer the personality test. Well the storyline is that you have to save a bunch of pokemon of find out how you became a pokemon. Coincidentally, there is a legend going around that there was this evil human was cursed and so became a pokemon. O_o (By the way, you lost your memory, so you have no idea) Yeah. So anyhow, there are maybe two dozen or so dungeons in the game, and they range from 3 minutes, to say, 4 hours. Big time gap there. And after you finish the main game, you have the option to continue a post-game, with new dungeons and things like that. That setup is actually pretty common. Oh yeah, if you've noticed my new background, Yuming told me how to fix that, so ask him. (Not that many people are going to see this except for said Yuming) Those three pokemon are actually starter types. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you probably aren't a pokemon fan. So, if you have this, and have some time on your hands, play it. (The game takes about 20 hours to finish) Yep. Well, I'm pretty much done here. By the way, the guys with the red eyes aren't the bad guys. (Well, one of them is, but I'll leave you to find that out) Yeah, that's all I got. Have fun playing it, or at least reading this post, which I'm sure nobody will. Oh yay.Tuesday, March 30, 2010
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Movie

The movie for this book has finally come out. I really liked the books, so I wanted to see the movie to see what they could make out of it. Greg Heffley is a middle school kid who is pretty much the shortest guy in his school. He writes in his diary/journal. He likes to talk about how bad everything is. Of course, the movie is not all cartoons, like the book. It has human actors, if you can't tell by the picture. I thought that the books were better than the movie, but maybe that's just me. I thought the books were better because they felt like they had more emotion in them than the movie and had a more complete storyline than the movie. If they made another movie for the sequels to the first book, I might watch it. On a rainy day. If I had nothing else to do. I wish I could have put aside something so I could watch it, because the book was really funny. But unfortunately, I can't, because I didn't think it was all that great. You could tell that they di their best to change the story into something with a stronger plotline, but I didn't feel like the story really held together. I understand that they couldn't just play out the events in the book, but I also think they could have done better with the story of the movie. I think they chose interesting actors for this movie, but of course looking at the books you can't tell what they really look like. Final conclusion: It's a good movie, but they are better ones. If you loved the book, then you should see this movie.

Calvin and Hobbes
Heh heh. Poor dad. Calvin is good. Hi everyone, since we started our comic unit, I decided to start doing blog posts about comics. This particular comic strip is called Calvin and Hobbes, by Bill Watterson. Calvin is a completely ordinary, but very smart, first grader. Unfortunately, for the people around him, he uses all of his smartness to play pranks on other people. Hobbes is his stuffed tiger, but Calvin knows/imagines that he is real, and can walk around and talk. During winter time, Calvin likes making snowmen. However, this is one of the few strips where they are "ordinary" snowmen. Being Calvin, he likes making them mutated, with their heads fallen off, and other things like that. I really like this comic because it's all about the young boy who's mischief (,as well as Hobbes) get him into trouble practically twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Did I mention that he hates school? Not that I do, but still. Calvin and Hobbes is one of my favourites, and I read them maybe more than any other comic. (Of course, I'm not a huge comic reader, but this is one of the one's I check in with regularly) He also has a girlfriend, but since they are first grader's, they show their love for each other by tossing snowballs at each other, Calvin giving her dead flowers (D-E-D) and Susie knocking (or trying to) his teeth out. What a lovely pair. They should try out. For wrestling, maybe. Yeah... I don't know what's going to happen to them when they grow up. As Susie puts it, "We come home from work, gripe about our jobs, and then argue about who's turn it is to microwave dinner." Typical couple. For a different planet. Sheesh. Also, as you can see by the comic, he likes tomenting his parents. However, just as often, they manage to turn it around. Calvin is a typical boy, albeit being a little...dramatic. Being An Author
Although of course, I am no serious author, (I'll be signing those books tomorrow) I do enjoy being an author on Matthew's Blog, because he is a completely (At times) serious person. Of course I kicked Jia xi off my blog because he is a demento. Even though Matthew says I'm a better blogger than him, that may only be half true. I enjoy helping Matthew be a funnier author to his blog, and help him put some comedy into his blog because you know, he's no stand up comedian ( Neither am I, because I have to sit down while I'm insulting people, in case anyone tries to hurt me, or throw a knife at me, I can duck.) I look forward to help Matthew be a hilarious crazy person. Although that may require a brain transplant, and forced exposure to 900 hours straight of stand up comedy.Well, I suppose 899 is okay.
Hehe >=D (Dont take this off!! >=D)
Hello people of Matthew's blog. I am "hacking" on another blog that's not Yumings >=D.

DS Game: Harvest Moon
I haven't blogged about video games in a while so I'm going back to the topic. The harvest moon series is about farming and making friends in whatever village you are in. This game is set in Forget-Me-Not Valley, and although the playing area is relatively small compared to other games, it makes up for it with a massive amount of content. It's a fairly old game, and it came out around 2005, but it is still a good game. The picture here is the "Harvest Moon DS" menu or opening screen. Now, about the game. Like other harvest moon games, there is no fixed goal. There is a main goal you can work toward, though. Now, the main character,(that's you) is the boy on the lower part of the picture. He's surrounded by little guys. Those are the harvest sprites and if you haven't played the series before, then they are little guys that run around.(and in this game, help you)The (main) goal of this game is to save all 101 harvest sprites. There is plenty of things you can do to occupy yourself in other ways. One of the main problems, especially in the beginning of the game, is money. These are G's. I'm assuming that's gold. Anyhow, this game needs a lot of money, if you want the best of everything in the game. That is, you need several billion G, more than what you need for all the other harvest moon games combined. Yeah, so it seems logical that I start with that first. The main way of making money in the game is selling items you find or grow or get. You throw stuff into your shipping bin and then the next day, the things are sold. You can ship almost every item in the game. There is also a guy named Van, who comes around every once in a while, and he buys items for a much higher price. Of course, you can ship crops and produce, that is why it is called Harvest Moon. The main way of making cash is leveling up crops. Leveled up crops sell for more. Your farm needs to be pretty well developed before you can do this though. I'm probably boring you with this, so I'll move on. Money is not the only problem in the game. Believe it or not, there are dungeons in the game. They are't really dungeons, but mines. Going down them is not necessary, but gives certain advantages. There are four dungeons/mines, each of them varying in difficulty and depth. There are dark creatures that guard the mines though. The first mine has 10 floors. You can breeze through that in a few minutes. The second has 255 floors, and is harder, but still easy enough if you have some energy healers. The third mine has 999 floors. This is where it gets nasty. You need a bunch of stamina healers, but since you can move deeper more quickly, it only takes a little longer than the second. And finally, the grand-daddy of them all, the fourth mine. *sigh* You really don't have to go down it, but it presents the greatest challenge in the mines. Are you sitting down? Cause this mine has an incredible, whopping, 65,535 floors!!! It takes over 24 hours of solid playing. Of course, you can save in the middle of it, so it doesn't have to be finished in one sitting. It has absolutely nothing that the other mines don't have, except for an event at the bottom. I haven't reached the bottom of this mine, and I don't intend to. I can't think of much else in the game that is particularly interesting, so I'll bring this post to a close.Monday, January 25, 2010
Sore Throats
I figure that if I have one, I may as well take as much advantage of it as I can. This post is all about sore throats and remedies. (Oh, and this is gonna be a lecture, so you don't have to read it if you don't want to) Sore throats are mostly caused virus or bacteria build-up in your throat. It can also be if you breath through your mouth too much, which lets dry air onto yout throat. Also, if you have a sore throat for more than 2 weeks, it can be a sign of a more severe illness. Now lets get down to the treatments. Most of the time, a gargle with lemon juice or salt water will solve it. You can also just drink lots of water. Some people on the internet suggest adding peppers to the water. Also, some people do gargling with a peroxide solution. o_O You can also eat some chilli peppers plain, if you can take the heat, burning sensation and numbness of the mouth. You can drink some tea, don't know if it clears it but it helps with the pain if you have one of the more severe sore throats. You can take all of the usual remedies too, like cough drops and other things like that. When you're sick you feel tired all the time, like I am now. In all, just gargle with some salt water and you should be fine.
Plane Crash
A recent plane crash happened somewhere off the coast of the Mediterranean sea. A Boeing 737 crashed shortly after it took off from the runway from Beirut. http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/100125/world/international_us_airlines_lebanon_crash
The plane crashed with 90 people, 83 passengers and 7 crew members. The plane, which was heading for Addis Abeba, disappeared in "a ball of fire." It apparently broke up in mid-air before careening down into the water. According to the president there, a terrorist attack or a "sabotage attack was unlikely." Several bodies have been recovered. The disaster is of course nowhere near as devastating as the earthquakes in Haiti, but it is still shocking. Everyone who was in the plane is or is feared to be dead. The weather there was bad, but the plane took off anyway, so it was "manageable." The people there are assuming that the weather was the primary cause for the crash. I think that, although helping Haiti is very important, there are other causes in the world which we should direct our attention to, even if it is just to find out information about the calamity. Reading about about disasters such as this help us understand more about the world. I personally look into things such as this as they interest me. Oh, and the company (Ethiopian Airlines) is buying 10 more airplanes for 767,000,000 dollars. I'll try finding a topic related to what is hapening here.
